Jacques-Henri Lartigue, world-renowned French photographer who chronicled a century in photographs beginning as a boy. Renée Perle, Jacque's second true love, his salvation after having lost his infant daughter to an early death, and his beloved wife and son to an adulterous affair. After some time, Jacques and Renée became inseparable, two halves of a whole. But over the course of their time together, the seeds of doubt were sewn. Jacques, the eternal artist, is torn between his two loves - his first being photography, a universal companion who only aides and abets no matter time nor place. Is this love affair between Jacques and Renée sustainable? As Lartigue himself once wrote in his diary: "My love for Renée, a splendid and unbearable sickness - unlivable in this modern age. We would have had to have died young, or else have been willing to become an anonymous little old couple, the kind who exchange their ambitions and every reason for living, for love."
